Wow, I loved this article. I live in Colorado and it is very cheap for almost everything here. When my family and I travel it is so much more expensive everywhere we go!

I live in Colorado, and wanted to add that another great thing about Colorado are all the bike trails and parks. We have a 35 acre park about two blocks from our house with running/biking trails, playground equipment and a pond. Another large park is within easy walking or biking distance. They are all over town! You will also see beautiful art in many parks and public spaces. In addition to bike lanes in most streets, there are lots of bike trails. As a family, we frequently take the bike trail from our city to the next, 10 miles away! It’s a beautiful trail that follows a river, and is amazingly well-maintained. These things are typical of Colorado towns – we love our outdoors! It’s not only frugal in the sense that you can have fun inexpensively, but it also keeps you healthier, which also saves money.

I love Colorado! I use to visit there quite often as a younger adult and the summer months are gorgeous. I’ve also heard that some cities like Boulder are quite bike friendly. I have a couple of relatives living there now, I think I might just have to go and visit them soon! (One just had a baby, always a great excuse for a visit )

I’ve been to Colorado a few times and even looked into buying property there. My favorite part is the southwest area around Durango / Pagosa Springs. I think Colorado has the perfect weather too – all 4 seasons yet dry climate (and not too cold, although I’m Canadian, so take that for what it’s worth.)

I have never been to Colorado but it sounds really pretty! I’ve also never been skiing before, so this may be a future vacation opportunity!
