I’m sure you have gotten the letters: “Pre Approved for a $10,000 credit card! Fill out the application and mail back!”

I used to get probably 3-4 a week. One day I decided to look on the back of the application in the fine print and realized that there was a way to stop getting the pre approvals! I went to Opt Out Prescreen’s website and signed up to have my name removed. I haven’t gotten any pre approvals since!

If you’d rather not do this, you can always do what my mom does and send them back blank.  The company has to pay postage for the envelope and she swears this gets the point across to the company.  Personally I’d go with the Opt Out Prescreen again.  It hasn’t failed me!
