My toddler is out of diapers just recently - so we had a mega clean session and have passed them on to another new Mum (I'm 42 and three quarters so probably am NOT going to need them again LOL)

Showed her the cost savings on a spreadsheet and she is hooked - or shocked at how much these will save her in the next few years.

No children yet - but cloth diapers are high on our priority list when we do have children.

I was a cloth-diapered baby. Nicely, my mom found many uses for the diapers years after we were out of the diapers, too. She converted a few to dusting cloths, and the others were converted into her monthly cloths( like Glad Rags are today.)

There are even a few sewing tutorials on-line for making your own Glad Rags. So, when baby is out of diapers, you can still get good use out of these things. They live forever.

I used both. Cloth diapers during the day and regular diapers at night. Saved us some money and gave us good sleep as well.

I would love to use a more ecological way for this, but I wouldn't use cloth diapers. They are less expensive and 'planet friendly', but we would be able to afford regular diapers with absolutely no problems and I just won't bother with all this mess.

We were starting to get the hang of the gDiapers, but decided to use Seventh Generation disposables for our trip. This is why: with either kind, if they leak, we need to change his clothes, so that's a wash. But with the gDiapers, if it leaks, the cover needs to be washed — not convenient on vacation. With a disposable, if it leaks, we just throw it away. So that's what we did. And I think we're just going to re-sell the two that we got to experiment with.

My son spent his first 18 months in these diapers. They are sooo great!!!! It cost us $100 for 8, which is steep, but in Guatemala it's hard to get them. But in the long run, we saved a bundle!

We use cloth diapers on lil' SPF! Mrs. SPF wrote a mega post on the topic (http://sustainablepersonalfinance.com/why-use-cloth-diapers/).

They do take some extra effort but the waste reduction is remarkable!
