Impromptu Yard Sale

I was getting ready to turn down my street tonight after work, and I noticed a yard sale sign.  It was advertised for house number 308 on my street, and we’re 311, so I was pretty stoked.  I’m going to grab some things together tonight, price them, and throw them on tables close to our street.  I’m hoping I can make a little extra cash this weekend!

It’s funny, because I just asked Mr. Money yesterday if he thought I should have a yard sale and he said no, too much work.  My thinking is that if they are already having one and they are getting the traffic, why shouldn’t I?  I looked on craigslist to see if they had it listed, but I couldn’t find it.  I did find that their next door neighbor is having one too!  Awesome!

I’m thinking the turnout will be great with the traffic from the signs and craigslist.  The only problem I’m thinking about is that I really don’t have tables to put our stuff on, and I don’t have any change.  I’m going to have Mr. Money run up to the bank tomorrow when it opens to get some change.  I just hope that no one wants to buy anything and need change right off the bat tomorrow!

This makes me really excited, although I wish I had more notice.  Keep your fingers crossed for me, and I’ll let you know how much money I make.

Do you have any last minute yard sale tips for me?

If you have a coffee urn or large coffeemaker, offer free coffee! That’ll bring ‘em in. :)

My advise is to not quibble, and take every offer you get. the garage sale pros will be out early, they want bargains so make your life easy and give it to them.
