‘Fess up Friday

Here’s my money mishaps for this week:

-While having my friend stay the weekend, she made me want the following new things: a flat screen tv (our tv is small), a laptop (she bought one Sunday and could sit on my couch and surf the internet!), and a new TV stand for our office (the one in here is just UGLY).

-On Tuesday (Mr. Money’s day off) we had planned on getting a $5.55 Little Caesar’s pizza for dinner.  Instead we went to our favorite Mediterranean restaurant and spent $21.  Ugh!

-While above mentioned friend was here, we ate out two times totaling around $20.

-Instead of trying to sell this old entertainment center we have on craigslist, I decided I would try to make it into a new one by sawing off the top part.  I now have a ghettofied tv stand in my office.  Let’s just say it’s not that pretty. :)

That’s pretty much it for me.  What do you have to confess?

I don’t know what you ate at the Mediterranean restaurant, but anything is better than eating something like Little Cesar’s pizza, even if you spend more. Good quality food is an investment–it may cost more now, but down the road you save so much more in improved health (less spent on healthcare), increased energy, etc. Take-out pizza has basically no nutritional value – you shouldn’t feel guilty about having something else.

  2. I bought a book for $16. I did check and see if the library had it but it was out and I didn’t feel like putting a hold on it.

I don’t know why, but when you describe your TV stand as ghettofied, it just made me LOL! Anyways, I am sure it’s not too bad. If it bothers you that much, check out thrift stores or craigslist for something you like better… and much cheaper than buying new. Otherwise… I guess it’s time to start saving for something new?

I was good this week with little money mishaps this week. I guess my only blunder was not stocking up on enough TP, and having to spend all of my remaining CVS extra care bucks on a 12 pack of Charmin. But… It’s not too bad, since it’s still kinda “free” but I wanted to save those for next week’s deals.

Deirdre- True! I didn’t even think of it that way… thanks!

Ashley- Books are a weakness for me. I’m impatient when it comes to them too. :)

Tiffany- I’ll have to share a picture. I guess it was a frugal transformation gone bad, lol. I just need something that will hold the tv, nothing fancy. I’ve been looking at thrift stores but haven’t found anything yet. I’ll keep searching. Love the tp deals! We buy ours at Costco. :)
