The way you think is SO ME! You'll be pleased to know that I'm 53 and along the way life has taught me to ease up on the Scrooge Syndrome and enjoy a few $$'s. The main thing is that you're aware of becoming a Scrooge and you do something about it without going to the other extreme. Don't worry too much about it. You can't change who you are. My husband reckons my frugal streak has been good for him. He used to waste all his money. Now he does without a few of his past luxuries, but he has a lot more to show for his hard work. My kids used to complain about my frugality, but now they say they learned a lot from me. They're both frugal too. I've spent most of today browsing your site and I love the way you think!
