Cheap or Frugal?

It’s Saturday again, and with the success of last week’s Cheap or Frugal, I decided I would pose another question for your inquisitive minds.

Last week’s question was:

When this couple goes out to eat at a restaurant (fast food, sit down, basically any), they only order one drink and share it.

Unbelievably, this question scored exactly 50/50!  There were 46 votes total, and half of you thought it was cheap and half thought it was frugal.

Here’s this week’s question:

Whenever I bring home a drink that has a straw, I wash the straw and reuse it.  I can’t stand to throw it in the garbage, and now I don’t have to buy straws.

Am I being cheap or frugal? Vote now!

I couldn’t vote on this one. I’ve decided that neither cheap or frugal would be an answer to this question. Does this make sense? It seems to me you’re making a “green” choice here. Have you heard of glass straws? Although, I’ve never used them, as I just found out about them a couple months ago, they sound like a wonderful alternative. Check out this site: http://www.glassdharma.com. There are other sites/companies that sell them, too, but this was the first one I had read about on another blog.

I have heard of glass straws but haven’t really looked into them. I need to. Thanks for the link!

I don’t really have an opinion, I don’t use straws at home. Do they clean up OK, I guess as long as it’s not gross I’ll go with frugal rather than cheap.

They do come out clean. :) I make sure to soap them up well. I don’t carry them home from restaurants either, haha.
