sb10064686c-001.jpgI know that when I have nothing to do it bothers me. Some people have said I have Attention Deficit Disorder; I like to think I am a go-getter. I like to always be doing something. With the way the economy is now, I’m trying to do things that are fun and don’t carry a huge price tag. Here are some of my favorite things to do when bored.

Get out and get some exercise. I like to take my dogs for a walk around the block, throw the Frisbee or ball in the yard, or take them to the local park. It is good to get out and get some fresh air, and they burn off energy while we are out. Lately I’ve just been going out around the neighborhood because of the high gas prices.

Rent a movie from Redbox. at $1 a night, you can’t go wrong. I have fallen in love with Redbox.  Can you imagine if I signed up for Netflix?  I am not going to do that right now because it’s spring, and you are do things outside during Spring!

Go to the library and rent a book or a movie.  I think the library is a wonderful resource for people, especially families!  If you have a child, take them to the library at least once a week and let them pick out some books or movies.  It’s free, and it will teach your child to love the library.  When we lived in Colorado, I loved going to the library and just sitting there reading a book.  The river out back was the perfect setting and I loved sitting there, listening to the river flowing while reading my novel.  It doesn’t get much better than that!

Take a bubble bath, complete with candles, and relax! Life is so stressful now that I enjoy a good soak every once in awhile.  Of course, you can debate that using that much water is not cost effective, but if you do it every once in awhile then it’s not that big of a deal.  I truly enjoy my baths.

Go the Dollar Store or local Goodwill/ Salvation Army for some good deals. In February when I went on my business trip out of town, I went to the Goodwill and Dollar Store numerous times.  At Goodwill I found many nice business clothes at a cheap price.  It was the nicest Goodwill I had seen!  I love shopping at Goodwill.  I also went to the Dollar Store and bought some bath salts and scrub to take a bath with.  It was a great deal!

I second using the library. It’s an awesome resource, not just for entertainment but also as a tool for cooking, making repairs, and every other facet of life.
