Are we in a Recession?

businesscycle.jpgAfter reading this article today on www.businessweek.com, it really got me thinking. Are we in a recession?

Last night I went grocery shopping, and as I passed by the bananas, I realized they were 60 cents a pound! Normally bananas where I live are right around 49 cents a pound. I was blown away by the ten cent a pound increase. While grocery shopping, I also noticed raised prices on other items as well. When I left the store, I got gas for $3.29 a gallon. Today when I left work it was $3.39 a gallon. I think this is getting ridiculous.

There has been talk of the federal reserve cutting the interest rate again by 3/4 of a percent. Personally I am a little scared by all this talk. However, I do have a stable job, and if interest rates do drop, I’m going to look into refinancing my mortgage. I guess the best I can do is sit back, wait, and save as much money as I can. What are your thoughts on the economy currently?
