They are a nice frame of shoes. A cobbler is your best friend. I'm always suprised at the things they can fix: shoes, old handbags, sometimes leather coats.

Who knows? For about $10 it will be like having a new pair of shoes.

I take my shoes ( all 8 pair) in once a year for weatherproofing, re-stitching (when necessary), re-soling, and buffing (for the suede pair). It makes all of my shoes look new, keeps me out of the shops for new things, and makes my stuff look professional. All 8 pair----about $40.00 total. So worth it. ( I learned to do this from reading Amy Daczyczyn's "Tightwad Gazette".)

I thought this was hilarious, thanks for sharing!! You should enter it into the Carnival of Money Stories! My son (who hasn't yet decided whether he'll be a chef or an IT guy) wants to know about your hubby's shoes, what brand and kind does he wear? Thanks for sharing about those shoes falling apart, that gave me a much needed chuckle, and I don't blame you for laughing. Good for Mr. Money for being so sweet about it, too. :-)

LOL! That's bananas.

I think you can take the shoes to a, uh, shoe repair shop, and they'll re-sole them. Idk what that costs or if it would even be worth it.

How bizarre though, to have that happen!
